Park Avenue PTO minutes from meeting dated Sept. 14, 2015
People in attendance: Robin Conrad, Tammy Chambers, Kourtney Brinkman, Amber Dailey, Connie Ferguson, Anitra VanHorn, Missy Kidwell, Jenifer Burnaugh, Holly Mecurio, Jim Swain, Annie Fraizer, Becky Bartlett, Erin Kelty, Randi Spoon, and Kathleen Griffith
No Secretary report due to change of secretary.
The Treasurer’s report was reviewed by people in attendance. There was a motion to accept.
Erin Kelty, treasurer reported the following data: Balance as of 9/14/15 was $11,985.70.
5K Playground : $3008
Expenses: $2,133.32 (T-Shirts and mats)
Motions were approved to accept.
Tammy Chambers reported she was getting rid of low selling items and going to come back next time with ideas for some new spirit wear.
New Business:
*Eric Holmes from Best Results Fundraising came to discuss using them for a spring fundraiser.
~They handle all the money, help with delivery, each order is pre-packaged when it arrives.
~40% profit to start can go up to 50%.
~Replacing Market Day or Spring Flowers? (not decided yet)
There seemed to be interest in using them in spring, final decision was not reached.
*Schoola
~Decided not to go with this fundraiser
*Kohl’s Cares
~No decision was reached on this
*ECO Center
~want us to use for field trips, discussion was cost was high, consensus seemed to be use the free field trips instead
*Assembly Ideas
~Ohio History Van and COSI were discussed. Liked COSI, talk of having them come 2 day
~Going to ask teachers their thoughts
~Rainforest exhibit for next school year?
*PTO Today School Family Night kits (science night, movie night, internet safety, reading night, game night)
~No decision made
*Fish Tank
~problem with green algae, want to purchase cleaning items for tank along with
Decorations
~decision was made to get supplies
*PTO Newsletter (editor/committee)
~discussion to get an editor for a newsletter for PTO.
~Robin Conrad and Kourtney Brinkman are going to work on newsletter
*Mt Gilead Public Library Board of Directors
~Erin Kelty moved for Robin to go to library board, no opposition
~vote to be put on charter

*Tie Dye Shirts
~discussion about bringing shirts back this year for end of the year activities
~going to go ahead and get shirts. Cost is being researched.

PTO 5K:
~playground committee discussed with Mr. Swain, needs include mulch, balls, 4-square and U.S. outlines discussed being painted on playground.
Mr. Swain mentioned:
~joining committees PBIS, Garden, Preschool Indians in Training
~Working to increase volunteering in school
~Battle of Books
~Spirit Week
Spelling Bee participation discussed for this year. Going to check on details
Box Tops to principal fund to be put back into PTO fund, Erin Kelty to discuss with board treasurer. Was part of the board meeting to dissolve account to turn funds over to the PTO as a donation. This will replace Market Day line item and will fund teacher mini-grants in future.
Santa shop December 7-11
